Tour & Travel - Trip to Puri
Trip undertaken on 21-25/3 '02
This trip was undertaken long ago but am still posting it as it is one of the most fun filled trips I have had.
Conclusion of the first board exams of life..The secondary school examination..was indeed a time of celebration. that dreaded month had come to an end which took the sacrifice of all the fun that you could think of. And so was planned the trip to Puri. This was a trip I looked forward to ... we were going to have all the fun with my cousins along with us. Yeah we were going to Bhubaneshwar where my mausaji was posted. It was from there that we were to proceed to Puri. Getting to have fun with them was the real excitement the journey war extending to me.
Journey began on 21st with departure from Howrah. Reached bhubaneshwar next morning and met my cousins at noon. Now started the real fun...playing, talking and sharing some memorable experiences Night outs and early waking started as we didn't wanted to waste time in sleeping. Next day we left for Puri by road and that too all together..and thats when the fun started taking the extremes.
The road trip with all its fun provided for other interesting stuffs too and I now agree that "stuff" was something not warrented. But then the childhood innocenece pleads of forgiveness for those 'sinful' acts of ours. On the way we visited The famous Konark Temple. It had huge pieces of arcs and architecture. The grand chariot present there, destroyed in huge cyclone of Orissa, was a standind testimony of the natural havoc. Journey proceeded and we reached Puri.

It was a night stay at Puri before we embarked into discovering what the city had to offer. Again the usual less of sleep and more of talks was the code to be followed. Then with the morning started the usual tourist activities. The major attraction was the beach , bathing on which was real fortune. It was my first time at such open sea. then we visited the temple and the atmosphere there was so peaceful and spiritual. We spent some time undergoing the rituals for the worship there.
Then started the return journey. But the fun was not over! On return we visited "Nandan Kanan" a wild life reserve.. The safari included that of lion, lioness and special attraction of white tiger . This was the last leg of the Journey and finally we bid good bye to each others and took the train back. Thus ended the journey which still is live in my mind and would be for a long time.
